Menu Plan Week of April 26th

Well, I survived my first week alone as a mom of seven. There were ups and downs and a few mishaps, but all in all things went pretty well. We actually managed to get school done every day and everyone had clean underwear. We had a few surprise meals last week so some of my menu is carrying over. We also still have some freezer meals, so hopefully this week we will all be well fed. Oh, and my sister-in-law sent us some Outback gift cards, WOOT! We might be able to squeeze in a trip this week if we go early enough to avoid the crowds.

Breakfast

My older kids did a great job making breakfast last week. Mornings seems to be my most difficult time as I am not ready to stay up at 5:30 am when Cora wakes up, so I usually fall back asleep around 6:30, right before all my other kids are waking. The older kids fixing breakfast has allowed me to get an extra hour of sleep in the morning.

Cereal, Bagels, Waffles, Oatmeal, Eggs

Lunch
I splurged and bought lunch meat last week, it is making the sandwiches for lunch thing go over a little better.

Sandwiches, Crackers, Fruit, Smoothies

Dinner

Sunday – Lasagna, salad, whole wheat French bread rolls

Monday – Steak, potatoes, corn, peas, bread

Tuesday – Free movie on base, easy meal of pasta, bread and veggies

Wednesday – Salmon turnovers, green beans, corn Did you know that salmon is great for young kids? Of course now that I am typing it, I can’t for the life of me remember why it is great, but I read it last week in a book. Blame it on the newborn, right?

Thursday – Marvelous meatloaf, mashed potatoes, (or maybe fries), green beans, fruit salad, whole wheat bread

Friday – Pizza with whole wheat crust

Comments

  1. I figure that any day we all have clean underwear is a good day!

  2. Anytime we have gift certificates to Outback we order and pick up. We are a family of 4 and can feed everyone with 2 meals. I can make the food go farther outside of the restaurant. While hubby is picking up we set the table “restaurant style”

  3. Salmon is good for you because it has plenty of Omega 3 vitamins, which are good for brain development. So, you can consider yourself a good mom for serving them salmon. I just give my kids an Omega 3 supplement LOL. None of us like fish other than tuna.

  4. Your meatloaf looks good. 😛

  5. Sounds yummy, as always!

  6. I admire you for having a menu plan and implementing it with 7 kids. I have 4 kids with the youngest being 7 weeks and I am so tired, I can barely think of what to type lol. Hopefully some of the mental fogginess will go away soon lol.

  7. Looks like a great week.

  8. Clean underwear is such a luxury, isn’t it? gotta love it. Glad you are surviving with 7 little ones.

  9. Looks like a great plan! My family would love to have both lasagna and meatloaf in the same week!

  10. Looks yummy! Thanks for sharing!

  11. My hat goes off to you! I was scared to be “alone” with my two, but I can’t imagine 7! Wow – you amaze me.
