Menu Plan Week of August 23rd

Do you struggle with menu planning? I struggled for years, but once I realized how much money I could save by planning our meals, I found a system that worked for our family. If you are looking for menu planning help join my Menu Planning 101 challenge so you can start planning and start saving money. This post explains the assignment for week two.

My meals for the week of August 23, 2009. I ended up using the oven last week due to a few severe thunderstorms. I did try to make the most of the oven time and cooked several things while it was on.

We have been using the grill and crock pot as much as possible, and thanks to a reader, last week I tried pita bread on the grill. It was awesome! I will share the recipe this week.

Breakfast:

Whole wheat pancakes, Oatmeal, French Toast, Eggs and toast, Blender batter whole wheat waffles

Lunch:

Sandwiches, Fruit, Veggies, Yogurt, Cheese and crackers, Smoothies

Dinner:

We had a few carry overs from last week:

Beef Stroganoff (a mushroom free recipe will post this week)

served with tossed salad, bread from the bread machine, carrots

Grilled Pizza This easy and fast recipe is on the table in about 30 minutes.

Served with fresh pineapple and watermelon

Turkey Tacos

Chicken Tetrazinni

Sloppy Joes

served with carrot sticks, chips, and salad

  5. I just wanted to let you know that I finally made your Chicken Tetrazzini and it was a HUGE hit here at my house! My husband LOVED it, my daughter LOVED it, and I LOVED it! My middle son LIKED it but my youngest is now big on creamy sauces so…four out of five is success here! Overall, a HUGE success at my house and I will definitely be making it again. Thank you for posting your detailed recipe!
