Menu Plan Week of March 9th

For all you beginning cooks out there, don’t forget to enter my giveaway for Back to Basics online cooking class. We are using it with as part of our homeschool curriculum, but it can help anyone learn the basics of cooking.

We have another birthday week. This time I am attempting a Star Wars cake. It looks pretty manageable, but after the sliding castle I don’t want to be over confident. Our birthday boy lucked out, as I have three doctor’s appointments this week so he is getting a special night out for pizza. Since I am now on modified bed rest I hope our menu will be easy enough for dh and the kids to handle in the evenings. I am so glad I made a bulk shopping trip at the beginning of the month, the only things needed from the store are dairy and produce which will make shopping quick and easy.

Cereal, Oatmeal, Biscuits and smoothies, French Toast, Pancakes

Trying to keep it simple this week, so it will be sandwiches and fruit. Possibly some muffins if I am feeling up to it.

  1. Everything looks good! Make sure you take it easy. I’m excited to see what the star wars cake looks like. I have 2 star wars fans myself.
I just posted my first menu plan. I’ve never been much of a meal planner. However, I know it realy is important for budget reasons and just to have a good variety. I get discouraged because my husband and 3 year old are beyond picky. So we’ll see how this week goes.
    God bless,

  3. I would love to know how you do your shredded beef for tacos.

  4. I think your Barbie cake and your Castle cake was awesome so can’t wait to see your Star Wars cake!

  5. Thanks for some good ideas. I haven’t made my menu for the week, yet!

  6. I can’t wait to see the Star Wars cake, I liked the Barbie and Castle cakes and can’t wait to see the next one. Take it easy and relax this week, I’ll keep you in my prayers. Leene

  7. Looks yummy! Thanks for sharing!
I hope you are feeling better!

  8. Salmon Turnovers sound really good. I once bought a can of salmon, not knowing there would be bones in there. It made me sick, so I threw out the can and haven’t bought a can since. LOL I might try this though.

  9. Hi! I’m delurking…. Your recipes look delicious! Do you have any good ones for freshwater fish? I’ve filleted 90 yellow bass the past 3 days, and we’ve only managed to eat 35. We had them deep fried a couple of times (and they were fantastic!), but it’s not very healthy. We blackened some in a skillet, but they weren’t as tasty as the fried ones. Any suggestions? I cut out the bones when I fillet them, and the surplus is safely stored in the deep freeze.
