Poppy Seed Salad Dressing

by contributing writer Dawn

I have been making my salad dressings for as long as I can remember. It is a frugal and delicious way to know what you are eating, since so many store bought salad dressings contain filler ingredients and preservatives.

This poppy seed salad dressing is my go-to recipe any time I take salad somewhere, and it is always in my pantry at home.

Poppy Seed Salad Dressing

Poppy Seed Salad Dressing

  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons grapeseed oil (or other lightly flavored oil)
  • 2 teaspoons evaporated cane juice (or sugar), if desired
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds

  1. Place all ingredients into a blender.
  2. Pulse several times to incorporate. You can also use an immersion blender.
  3. Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator.
