Washing Potatoes in Bulk

I mentioned this last year, but it is such a good tip I thought I would mention it again. With Christmas right around the corner, many of us will be processing 10 to 20 pounds of potatoes.

A fast and easy way to clean all those potatoes at once is to put them on the top rack of your dishwasher and run a quick rinse cycle. The potatoes are clean and you aren’t taking up valuable sink space in the kitchen.

I have tried this and it really works!

  1. What a great idea!! I have a post coming tomorrow on washing produce. I think I will link you and this tip.

I love ya Mrs. Happy Housewife! 🙂

  2. Wow! Whoever would have thought! I’m in Scotland, so we don’t really ‘do’ Thanksgiving in the same way as you, but that’s such a fabulous tip for other times I’m washing loads and loads of tatties – quite often actually!
    Thanks for posting this….
    Love, Anne x

  4. yes love this but never would have thought of it 🙂 Thanks

  5. What about the rinse aid…will that dispense during the rinse cycle?

  6. That is an excellent trick. Thanks!

  7. What a great tip! I would have never thought of that.

  8. Great tip, but the thought of peeling ALL those potatoes makes me shudder!

  9. Why can’t I put potatoes on the bottom rack of a dishwasher at the same time as using the top rack for potatoes?
